# Access Logs

> The Access Logs screen of the RAY admin portal shows the history of visitor check-ins, check-outs and denials at the gate (Visitor Log) and of check-ins and check-outs in areas (Area Log). Found under Access → Access Logs.

## Summary

The **Access Logs** screen in the RAY admin portal is the history of access events. The **Visitor
Log** tab records each time a visitor was checked in, checked out or denied, usually by a security
guard in **Security → Visit Security**. The **Area Log** tab records check-ins and check-outs in
the areas defined under **Access → Areas**, for visitors and residents. Access Logs is read-only.

## Where to find the Access Logs screen

* Menu: **Access → Access Logs** (Arabic: **الوصول ← سجلات الوصول**)
* Tabs: **Visitor Log** (سجل الزوار) and **Area Log** (سجل المنطقة).

## Who can access the Access Logs screen

Users with an **Admin** or **Operator** role that includes the visitor management feature.

## Visitor Log columns

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Log Date & Time** | When the event happened. |
| **Visitor** | The visitor's name. |
| **Log Type** | **Checked In**, **Checked Out** or **Denied**. |
| **Denial Reason** | For denied visitors, click **View** to read the reason the guard entered. |
| **Visit ID** | The visit; click it to open the visit's detail page. |
| **Host** | The tenant who registered the visit. |
| **Address** | The address of the visit. |

The Visitor Log can be filtered by **Host**.

## Area Log columns

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Visitor** | The visitor, when a visitor entered the area. |
| **Resident** | The resident, when a resident entered the area. |
| **Area** | The area entered. |
| **Checked In** | When the person checked in to the area. |
| **Checked Out** | When the person checked out of the area. |

The Area Log can be filtered by **Resident**.

## Common questions about Access Logs

### Where do I see why a visitor was denied at the gate?

Open **Access → Access Logs**, **Visitor Log** tab. Find the entry with **Log Type** **Denied** and
click **View** in the **Denial Reason** column.

### How do I see everything that happened on one visit?

In the **Visitor Log**, click the **Visit ID** to open the visit, or filter by the visit's
**Host**. The visit's detail page shows each visitor's **Last Access Action**.

### Can I edit or delete an access log entry?

No. Access Logs is a read-only history.
