Summary
The Buildings screen in the RAY admin portal manages the buildings of a property. A building has a name, an optional number of floors, an optional project, a map location, images and attachments. A building’s detail page lists its units and whether each unit is occupied. Each building also has Submission Recipients: staff users who automatically receive the forms that tenants submit.Where to find the Buildings screen
- Menu: Properties → Buildings (Arabic: العقارات ← المباني)
- Clicking a building in the list opens the building’s detail page.
Who can access the Buildings screen
The Buildings menu entry is shown only to users with an Admin role that includes the buildings and units feature. The same feature also shows Projects, Units and Unit Categories. The Buildings screen is never shown to Operator or Security roles. See Roles and permissions.Buildings list columns

How to create a building
- Open Properties → Buildings.
- Click Add.
- Enter the Building Name.
- Optionally enter the Number of Floors and choose a Project.
- Click Save.
How to edit a building
A building can be edited from the Buildings list or from the building detail page.- Open Properties → Buildings.
- Either click Edit in the building’s row, or open the building and click Edit at the top of the building detail page.
- Change the Building Name, Number of Floors or Project.
- Click Save. Save stays disabled until something has changed.
How to delete a building
- Open Properties → Buildings.
- Click Delete in the building’s row, or open the building and click Delete at the top of the building detail page.
- Confirm the deletion.
Building detail page
The building detail page shows the building’s name, Floors, Project, images, map Location and Attachments, followed by two tabs:- Units: every unit in the building, with columns Unit Name, Category and Status. Category is the unit category from Properties → Unit Categories. Status is Occupied or Vacant. Clicking a unit opens that unit’s detail page.
- Submission Recipients: the staff users who automatically receive form submissions. See the next section.
Building submission recipients
The Submission Recipients tab (Arabic: مستلمو الطلب) of a building lists staff users with a User and a Role column. The portal describes them as follows: “When a tenant submits a form, the selected user will automatically receive the submission with the selected role.” Each recipient has one Role: Manager, Assignee or Viewer. - Open Properties → Buildings and click the building.
- Open the Submission Recipients tab.
- Click Add.
- Choose the User.
- Choose the Role: Manager, Assignee or Viewer.
- Click Save.
Common questions about Buildings
Why can’t I see the Buildings menu?
The Buildings menu is hidden when none of your roles is an Admin role with the buildings and units feature. Ask an administrator with access to Administration → Roles & Permissions to add that feature to your role. If you have access to several locations, also check the location selected in the portal header.How do I see which units in a building are vacant?
Open the building from Properties → Buildings and look at the Status column of the Units tab. Each unit is marked Occupied or Vacant.Is a project required to create a building?
No. Project is optional and can be added or cleared later.How do I make sure a manager receives every request from a building?
